Once at the front door, Mazikeen realizes kicking it in won't be an option but before Eve can even say a word, she pulls out a pry bar from her boot and breaks the lock. They cautiously walk towards the entrance of the house. ' She did not finish her sentence because she didn't want to know what could possibly be happening to Ella right now. 'Besides,' Mazikeen says, bursting Eve's jealousy bubble, 'there's plenty of rich scum out of there who get a kick out of. So what is up with all this? First Lucifer, now Maze? Ella was a good kisser, she remembers, but nothing compared to Eve herself. I can feel it.' Seeing her lover this devoted to finding Ella made jealousy bubble up in her chest, as horrible as that may be. 'Are you sure this is the right place to look? If anyone took her, I highly doubt they'd bring her here.'Įve seems ready to turn back around but Maze remains standing solidly. It's not hard to conclude that the place is targeted at people with money, Maze could tell from the cars alone. Seeing as it would most likely end in shouting and tears, maybe it's better they remain quiet.Ībout fifteen minutes later they arrive at a neighbourhood full of nearly-identical detached residences. It feels awkward and Eve almost wants Maze to start up a conversation. They don't say a word the entire way to the place marked on the map. Mazikeen, not having any time to disagree, nods her head and Eve follows her outside. But reading the room, she is well aware this is not the time to bring it up. 'Eve, I really do not have time for you right now.' The anger in her voice sounds feral as if she would snap any second.Įve was well aware Mazikeen wasn't fully into whatever they had going on, and seeing her nearly explode from all the anxiety Ella's disappearance gave her, she had drawn up some conclusions. But she had left the tab with the map open on Chloe's computer so if anything went wrong, they'd at least know where to go.Īnd with that bit of information, Mazikeen runs towards the exit- only to be stopped by someone on the stairs. Since Chloe and Lucifer were out looking for Ella, Mazikeen hadn't shared her discovery with anyone else. It took her at least an hour and every minute that had passed in the process ate away at her until she was nothing but nerves. Comparing the scribbles to professionally drawn maps, Mazikeen discovered the general area Ella had tried to copy. Upon closer inspection, however, Maze could make out some patterns and detected it's a hastily drawn-up map. At first glance, it seemed to be a simple piece of paper with some random lines on it. One, in particular, had caught Maze's attention. When they weren't helpful at all, she snatched some of the documents that Chloe had been looking at. She had already gone by her place and her work, questioning a few of her neighbours and colleagues. Being a highly-skilled bounty hunter, she realized she had to play to her strengths in order to find Ella. Lucifer joined her soon after her phone call but Mazikeen had gone a separate way. Because if no clues could be found, she had to dig deeper until she could find something. Nothing explicitly suspicious was found at her house or at work but Chloe had started looking at the case Ella was working on. That set alarm bells ringing and she sent out a small team to look for her. Chloe went over to her house only to find it completely deserted. Only when she did not pick up her phone when she was mysteriously absent two days in a row, people started getting suspicious. The details: Ella disappeared two nights ago after work.
